Overview
The second-generation VSS-50 scans a 2D VCSEL array for a 120° × 80° field, 30° taller than Gen 1, in an 80 × 60 × 55 mm housing under 200 g. Range is stated in sunlight: 15 m @ 10% reflectivity over the full field and 25 m in a 120° × 30° zone, both at 100 klux. It trades Gen 1's point density (245,760 vs 540,000 pts/s) and 30 m @ 10% reach for the taller field, a much smaller footprint and a 5 V to 16 V supply. Gen 1 remains in production.
